Chicken pox are extremely itchy. There are some treatment for
chicken pox that can relieve the symptoms of this illness.
Being itchy from chicken pox is no fun for an adult or a child? It
can be rather tiresome when the symptoms of chicken pox
develop. Knowing some chicken pox treatment can help relieve the
problems associated with chicken pox.
Chicken pox for the most case is a self healed illness. That means
that the illness isn't treated directly. Instead the symptoms that are
present are worked on to make the person with chicken pox suffer
less. There are many forms of treatments out there.
For headaches that develop during chicken pox, taking a pain
reliever such as Tylenol can relieve the pain. A child should never be
given any of these and asking a health care provider what to give for
a headache is the best idea.
There are also soothing baths out there that can calm the itchiness
that is associated with the rash. The scabs can become very itchy and
there are healing baths that a person can take and relieve the
itchiness that comes with those rashes. Most of these healing baths
are oatmeal baths. There are recipes available online to see how to
make your at home oatmeal bath or one can be purchased over the
counter.
Another thing to relieve the itchiness is through lotions. A simple
calamine lotion can be applied to the rash areas to sooth and relieve
the itchiness. Another common treatment is that of antihistamines,
these can be given and relieve the itchiness. It may make a person
drowsy but it will cause the body to fight the histamines that are
causing the itch.
Although a person may be itchy the best treatment to prevent any
type of infection is to make sure that the nails are trimmed and
cannot cause any scratches while scratching and picking at the
scabs. Preventing this will help make sure no infection forms at any
of the rash sites.
In some cases an anti viral prescription can be prescribed to the
patient. These will help fight the virus that causes chicken
pox. However in most cases it does not speed of the recovery phase, it
might help by a day or so, but in most cases it is left on its own to
heal.
